The FindIT in Taiwan map

Ok, I’ve just set up a new little project which will hopefully get better over time which I’ve called FindIT in Taiwan

As I, as well as many other people here have a hard time finding various things around Taiwan, I figured it was a good idea to set up a Google map with little pointers to where shops are located that sell specialty items, or at least things that are a bit out of the ordinary here, outside of the normal supermarkets. However, anyone can add things to the map and I hope those that sit on a pile of good information will do so.

I’ve merged it with my old “Places to Eat in Taiwan” map, so there are a lot more map points now, but a lot of them are not updated and as such are in Chinese rather than English. I’ll get around to fixing them in due time.

I don’t really care what is added to it, as long as it is relevant. It doesn’t just have to be food stuff, it can be anything that helps people find what they’re looking for from an English speaking scooter repair shop to a place that sells shoes over the size of 44 (that’s 11 UK, 12 US). As of right now it’s mostly just covering southern Taipei and parts of Taoyuan, so people in other parts of the island would really be needed to make this a useful project.

Have a gander at the map below and please feel free to add more info to it. To add content to the map, click on View Larger Map below, it’ll open up the map full screen, then you have to add it to your Google maps (requires a Google account). From there can you then add new bits or edit incorrect information. Please make sure you use the rich text editor and that you put in links if you have them.

Thanks to Oskar for adding his maps to the project, it just about doubled the content, to Anders for spreading the word and to everyone else that’s been adding content to the map
